Welcome to Truro City Council

The bustling Cathedral City of Truro is the centre for administration, commerce and tourism for the County of Cornwall. Truro, called after Tri-veru meaning three rivers which includes the Rivers Kenwyn and Allen, has developed close to the Truro River and with good road and rail links is within easy reach of almost every part of Cornwall.

The City Council carries out a number of functions in the City. Its largest department manages the award winning Parks and gardens, as well as the horticultural displays in the City Centre, Public Cemetery and Allotments. This department also manages the Public Conveniences, much of the City Centre street furniture, and carries out road and pavement weeding in the wider City. The Council also manages VisitTruro which provides Tourist information and marketing for the City. There is also a community development function.

This website provides information of the decisions and governance of the Council. The links below direct you to other Council websites, VisitTruro for information and events, Truro Uncovered for historical information, and the Truro & Kenwyn Neighbourhood Plan. There is also a link to the Truro Business Improvement District website with whom we have very close ties.
