Welcome to Truro City Council

The City Council carries out a number of functions in the City.

Its largest department manages the award winning parks and gardens, the horticultural displays in the City centre, the public cemetery grounds and allotments. This department also manages the public conveniences, much of the City Centre street furniture and road and pavement weeding in the wider City.

There is also a Community Development team that works closely with residents in the community and an Events Coordinator who works to develop events on Lemon Quay and around the city.

This website provides information about the decisions and governance of the Council. If you require information or previous council minutes please contact the office using the contact information on this site.

The City Council manages the Tourist Information Office; VisitTruro which provides tourist information from its busy retail shop in Boscawen Street; via telephone, email and social media.

Visit Truro

It also has a marketing function for the City including the production of the Truro Guide, the annual Accommodation Guide and the Visit Truro website.

Visit Truro has very close ties with Truro Business Improvement District (Truro BID) and Visit Cornwall for whom they provide a contact centre function.
