INVITATION
TO JOIN THE WORKING FOR TRURO ASSOCIATION
The
Community of Truro consists of many different
organisations and we are keen that all of your
hopes, fears and aspirations for the future
of our city are heard and seriously considered.
Your views count and are particularly important
at a time when Partnerships and Historic Planning
are clearly essential ingredients to obtaining
Best Value for all concerned, to unlock Community
Funds and secure Objective One money for your
projects.
The
objective of the WFTA is simply to enhance
the City of Truro, for the benefit of all those
who live, work, shop, study, socialise and
visit our magnificent cathedral city. Bringing
isolated issues together to integrate and resolve
them holistically in partnership with you,
the community, the private sector and the authorities,
is recognised as the way forward. To this end
the WFTA have been working in partnership since
1997, with Truro Local Agenda 21 Group, residents
of Truro, Truro Civic Society, Truro Official
Blue Badge Guide, City of Truro Chamber of
Commerce, Truro City Council, Carrick District
Council and Cornwall County Council Transportation & Estates
to mention a few. Achievements include the
design and production of the new large official
city of Truro map, erected in Lower Lemon Street.
The WFTA/LA21 community notice board/map supported
by Marks and Spencer Plc, erected at High Cross,
and the new A2 size fold out map. Currently
we are securing partnership funding for the
Green Link Project for Truro.
We
want to ensure that all organisations within
the community of Truro are given the opportunity
to voice opinions, be heard and contribute
to the evolution of the city, in partnership
and for generations to come. We invite representatives
of all organisations of Truro interested in
working in partnership to join us, to ensure
Truro unites, grows and prospers.
Please
see our agenda for the next meeting along with
a copy of the WFTA constitution on the community
notice board at High Cross, or contact us on
(01872) 275438. We look forward to your comments
and project proposals. |
